David C. Schonberg, Schonberg Care, President

David began his extensive career in the senior retirement industry shortly after earning his MBA and MHA from Tulane University. He broke ground on his first assisted living community, The Suites at Sugar Mill Point, in Houma, LA in January of 2001. He went on to develop Alden Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care in Hattiesburg, MS before acquiring ownership of three South Carolina assisted living communities, which now proudly bear the Schonberg name and distinction, as well as Schonberg’s exceptional standard of care. From there, David and his team went on to open two additional luxury assisted living and memory care communities: Vista Shores overlooking Bayou St. John in New Orleans, and the stately Ashton Manor in Luling, LA. Most recently, they debuted the highly anticipated Beau Provence Memory Care Assisted Living, the first and only memory care exclusive community in Mandeville, LA, and acquired Park Provence Retirement Living in Slidell, LA and Bay Cove’s sister community, Beau Ridge in Ridgeland, Ms. Through his growing number of successful communities, David has proven his innate ability to conceptualize, develop, and manage unique communities and programs that provide the utmost of excellence in state-of-the-art care. David is thrilled to welcome Bay Cove to the Schonberg family.

Nancy McAllister, RN, Executive Director, Bay Cove Assisted Living

As the Executive Director of Bay Cove Assisted Living, Nancy oversees all community operations to ensure that residents receive the highest quality of care possible. Nancy has served in the Aging Services field for over 16 years, and has led the Bay Cove team for almost four years. A native of Buffalo, NY, Nancy's passion lies in helping others live their best possible life. In her spare time, Nancy loves spending time on the water paddleboarding, dabbling in interior design, and running crab traps with her husband James and their dog Geoffrey.

Elizabeth Pond, Executive Director, The Cottage Memory Care at Bay Cove

As the Executive Director of The Cottage Memory Care at Bay Cove, Elizabeth oversees all community operations to ensure that residents receive the highest quality of specialized memory care possible. Elizabeth brings a diverse depth of experience in counseling, teamwork, and communication best practices in a clinical mental health setting to her role as Executive Director at The Cottage at Bay Cove. Elizabeth believes in focusing on what a resident can do rather than what they can’t, and trains her team to support and encourage residents at The Cottage, enabling them to reach their own highest potential and live their fullest life each day. Elizabeth chose her career path as the result of a true passion and calling for serving the elderly, and her natural ability to build strong relationships with residents and effectively and compassionately engage them in therapeutic care plans make Elizabeth’s guidance a vitally important aspect of the exceptional memory care offered at The Cottage at Bay Cove.  

Cathy Sando, Activities Director, Bay Cove Assisted Living

Cathy has worked as an LPN for 22 years in numerous healthcare settings before becoming an Activities Director in 2002. She joined the Bay Cove family in 2015, working diligently every day to build a robust, enriching activities program based on each resident’s unique physical and social needs. She loves providing Bay Cove residents with a specially designed activities program based on not only fun and enjoyment but also fulfillment in leading a purpose-driven life. In her time away from Bay Cove, Cathy enjoys cooking, fishing, golfing, working with clay, enjoying a good movie, and most importantly spending quality time with her family.

Dana Leonard, Resident Care Director, Bay Cove Assisted Living

Dana Leonard serves as the Resident Care Director for Bay Cove Assisted Living. She is a native of Biloxi, MS, and she has been in the medical field for over 20 years. She attended college at Mississippi Gulf Coast and William Carey University, where she received her Associates Degree of Arts and became a certified LPN. She has served in a variety of caring roles that include CNA, Medical Assistant, and LPN. Dana is very excited to be a part of the Bay Cove team, and she loves having the opportunity to provide the residents she serves with the love and personalized care they deserve each and every day. Dana lost her grandparents at a young age, which makes her cherish even more the special relationships she cultivates with her residents, all of whom she considers to be an extended part of her own family. Dana has been married for 17 years to her husband Jason, and they are the proud owners of four sweet dogs. When she's not at the community, Dana can usually be found reading, painting, gardening, or spending time with her friends and family. Dana's extraordinarily caring heart and unparalleled dedication make her an invaluable asset to the Bay Cove community.

Angel Fox, Memory Care Program Director, The Cottage Memory Care at Bay Cove

Angel considers it a privilege and a blessing that she has been afforded the opportunity to work with seniors for over nine years as an Activities Director. Angel has been part of The Cottage team for over a year, and she has greatly enjoyed working with her memory care residents and applying her Dementia Certification skills towards helping residents reach their own highest potential and live their very best quality of life. Angel has been married for 36 years to her husband John, and they are the proud parents of Joshua and Jessica. Angel is very excited about the Dementia Capable Care program she is leading at The Cottage, and is proud to provide seniors in Biloxi with the most exceptional memory care in the region! 

Faye Elly, LPN, Resident Care Director, The Cottage Memory Care at Bay Cove

Faye possesses over 26 years of experience in the nursing field, including over seven years serving as a CNA Instructor to caregivers in training at a Mississippi college. She attended the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Selma, AL and is a certified Licensed Practical Nurse. Faye is a member of the Medical Assistant Advisory Board at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, as well as the Vice President of the Knights of Saint Peter Claver/Ladies Auxiliary Organization. Faye is incredibly dedicated, dependable, and detail-oriented, and she is very grateful to work in a field that allows her to apply her skills daily to her life's passion of enriching the lives of others.

Teresa Ridgeway, Marketing Director, Bay Cove Assisted Living & Memory Care

Teresa Ridgeway serves as the Marketing Director for Bay Cove Assisted Living and Memory Care. She got to know the community and its residents well while volunteering her each month at the memory care community, and the time she spent with the residents and team members gave her so much joy that she decided to join the team and spread the news about the exceptional care and services offered at Bay Cove. She states that "experiencing firsthand this beautiful community that is enriched with wonderful staff and residents and passionate leadership makes it very easy to represent and recommend Bay Cove." Teresa received her Master's of Education in Counseling, and she possesses a diverse skill set in counseling and marketing as a result of over 10 years of experience working with the aging population. She is a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and loves spending her free time with her friends and family.

Anna Holland, Business Office Manager, Bay Cove Assisted Living & Memory Care

Anna possesses over 20 years of experience working in the healthcare industry in roles that include Business Office Manager, Director of Operations, & Billing Manager. She was born in New Orleans, LA and raised in Slidell, LA. Anna attended college at Southeastern LA University in Hammond, LA, and moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1995. In her spare time, Anna enjoys making jewelry & spending quality time with family that includes her husband, mother, and nieces and nephews of all ages.
